Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
The fifth meeting of the 2015-2016 year took place on Tuesday April 26th at the National Weather Service office in Jackson, MS. This was a lunch meeting and it was called to order at 1:05 pm by NWA Chapter Vice President Benny Holden.

Rolls
NWA Chapter President Eric Carpenter made a list of those in attendance. 13 people attended.

Minutes Approval
Minutes from the March meeting were summarized by Recording Secretary Joanne Culin.

New Business
Treasurer David Cox provided the treasury report. The amount in the treasury was $118.56 as of the start of the meeting. Dues of $20 were collected from one member. A total of $47.06 was spent for the pizza lunch. The net balance at the end of the meeting was $91.50. This does not reflect $20 dues given by one member in advance for next year.

The order of the meeting was a little different than normal as it began with a thorough tour of the WJTV weather truck by Brad Maushart. The truck is fairly new, and as of yet, it hasn’t been used in a significant tornado outbreak (e.g., such as on 4/27/11 or 4/28/14). In this case, pictures are probably the best way to describe the tour and below are a few to give you an idea of how much went into the technical capabilities for storm chasing. Many thanks go to Benny Holden for helping to arrange this tour. The tour was followed by lunch, the minutes summary, and the treasury report.

Adjournment
Following the minutes review, treasury report, and some discussion of meeting ideas for the month of May, this meeting was adjourned by Eric Carpenter at approximately 2:30 pm.

Minutes were recorded by Eric Carpenter.
