New Business
The service project meeting was held to help a local charity during the holidays. Historically, December meetings were not held due to the holidays so it was decided that a service project would be performed instead. David Cox, Daniel Lamb and Joanne Culin helped pack 30 pound boxes of a variety of canned and nonperishable foods. These boxes of food would go to help feed over 150,000 people, which would not take much time at all to go through. The Mississippi Food Network helps over 400 agencies in a 56 county area. They collect about 20 million pounds of food during the year. Once the task was complete, a Newk’s lunch was provided as an end of year thank you to the volunteers, sponsored by Entergy.
In addition to the service project, there continues to be ongoing effort to collect socks for Grace Place group, which will distribute these socks to homeless men. The goal is to prevent frostbite. This donation drive began in December and will continue into January.
Adjournment
The meeting concluded at approximately 12:10pm, and it was adjourned.
Minutes submitted by Daniel Lamb, Corresponding Secretary.
